About OliveBio

Olive Bio is a Los Angeles based company focused on sustainable biomanufacturing. Our mission is to lower the adoption barrier for polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) bioplastics by transforming them into a cost-effective and truly scalable alternative to petrochemical plastics.

PHAs are an exceptional class of biodegradable polymers capable of replacing conventional plastics across various applications. From environmentally friendly packaging materials to agricultural uses and pioneering medical advancements, PHAs are driving the future of a greener economy. They are among the few bioplastic materials that are truly biodegradable, home compostable (as well as industry compostable), marine degradable, biocompatible, non-toxic, and can be produced from renewable or waste-based feedstocks.

Despite their remarkable properties, industrial production of PHAs is currently lagging behind that of petrochemical plastics. Less than 0.5% of all plastics produced annually are PHAs, primarily due to immature economies of scale and high production costs. Olive Bio is addressing this challenge by developing a proprietary AI-guided cell-free reactor system for economically viable large-scale PHA production.

Join us at Olive Bio as we pave the way for a sustainable future by making eco-friendly bioplastics accessible and affordable for all.
