MECA: Fueling Omaha’s Growth

MECA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that builds, operates, and manages public venues in Omaha, Nebraska. Since 2000, we’ve driven major public-private projects that fuel economic growth and enhance community life.

Our first development, CHI Health Center Omaha, opened in 2003 and has generated nearly $5 billion in economic impact—without relying on taxpayer dollars for operations. We followed that with Charles Schwab Field Omaha, home to the NCAA Men’s College World Series, which opened in 2011 and attracts record-setting crowds.

Most recently, MECA led the transformation of downtown Omaha with The RiverFront, a 72-acre park project completed in 2023 that now draws nearly a million visitors annually.

Governed by an independent board and powered by a dedicated team, MECA continues to shape Omaha’s future through innovation, collaboration, and a strong commitment to the community.
