OmniSource, LLC is one of North America’s largest metals recyclers, specializing in the collection, processing, and distribution of ferrous and nonferrous scrap. Through ongoing growth and strategic acquisitions, we process over 7 million tons of ferrous and 1 billion pounds of nonferrous metals each year.
We operate 70+ facilities across the Midwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic, supported by a robust logistics network of trucks, containers, railcars, and barges that extends our reach throughout North America. Our national brokerage and trading team connects metals buyers and sellers, providing market insights that optimize value.
Alongside our company-operated sites, we partner with industrial scrap generators nationwide, designing and managing customized recycling programs tailored to their manufacturing needs.
Founded in Fort Wayne, Indiana more than 65 years ago, Omni was acquired in 2007 by Steel Dynamics, Inc. (SDI) and continues to play a key role in SDI’s circular manufacturing model as a wholly owned subsidiary.
