The Open Government Data Office, located at the Federal Statistical Office, is responsible for the implementation of the OGD Master Plan 2024-2027 in close cooperation with the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA). This master plan defines the OGD activities accompanying the entry into force of the Federal Act on the Use of Electronic Means to Carry Out Official Tasks. The aim is to ensure that the publication of open government data strengthens transparency, participation and innovation in all areas of society.

The OGD Office operates opendata.swiss, the Swiss public administration's central portal for open government data, and aims to make open government data available to the public.
