About Orlando Science High School

Orlando Science School (OSS) is a tuition-free, STEM-focused public charter school network serving Orange County in Central Florida since 2008. Committed to academic excellence and innovation, OSS provides a rigorous, well-rounded education with a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), delivered in a supportive and intimate learning environment.

OSS has been recognized as a High-Performing Charter School since 2011 and holds accreditation from AdvancED's Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS-CASI). In addition, OSS earned STEM Certification from AdvancED and was named a State School of Character by Character.org in 2018, highlighting its commitment to both academic and ethical development.

The curriculum is aligned with the Florida Standards and Next Generation Sunshine State Standards, integrating core academics with a deep focus on inquiry-based learning and real-world application. OSS also instills the values of community service, regularly organizing volunteer initiatives, fundraisers, and charity drives to foster civic responsibility among students.

Beyond the classroom, students thrive in a dynamic extracurricular environment. They participate and excel at regional and national competitions in Science Olympiad, MathLeague, and FIRST Robotics, and engage in diverse clubs and activities such as Model United Nations, Odyssey of the Mind, Engineering Club, Band, and Duke TIP. These experiences build collaboration, creativity, and leadership—skills essential for future success.

Since its founding, OSS has built a reputation for cultivating future leaders and innovators. Guided by its mission to empower students through a high-quality STEM education, OSS continues to inspire academic achievement, character development, and lifelong success.
