Business Joensuu and GTK together with companies have established a cooperation network that develops and provides sustainable solutions for mining sector’s future needs, including water treatment and more efficient utilisation of mine waste.
The core of the innovation cluster, Outokumpu Mining Hub, is located in Outokumpu. Extensive ongoing investments in GTK Mintec’s laboratory facilities, digital development and a field testing area for studying the long-term behaviour of tailings, create a strong foundation for the cluster.
We are building a globally unique service cluster and business environment, which utilises the expertise of each cluster operator.
