Welcome to the official NHS England Outpatient Recovery and Transformation page, managed by the National Outpatient Recovery and Transformation Programme team. Our aim is to change the way the NHS delivers outpatient care to better suit patients’ busy lives. We support providers and systems to optimise their outpatient referrals and rollout initiatives such as remote consultations and patient initiated follow-up to give patients greater choice and control over how and when they access their care. Transforming outpatient services in this way will help not only support the recovery of NHS services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will also ensure we continue to deliver high-quality healthcare in a modern and sustainable way.
