About OZANAM HALL OF QUEENS NURSING HOME INC
Located in Bayside, Queens, New York, Ozanam Hall was opened in 1971. We are a 432-bed senior care facility, which is administered by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. The fabric of the Carmelite Mission is woven throughout the facility which is bound together by the strength and guidance of Mother Angeline. The home is named for Frederic Ozanam, a 17th century lawyer and philosopher known for his charitable works such as the founding of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Ozanam Hall offers Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care, and Short-Term Rehabilitation as well as Skilled Geriatric Care.
Our partnership with the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm has allowed Ozanam Hall to provide the highest quality staff and services. We strive to uphold our long tradition of caring for the physical, spiritual, and intellectual needs of the whole person.
In 2025 we were thrilled to announce the grand opening of Carmel Hall, a new neighborhood designed specifically for individuals with dementia. Inspired by Montessori principles, Carmel Hall provides a stimulating, engaging environment that promotes independence, purpose, and well-being.
The facility’s design incorporates principles of the Montessori method, which emphasizes dignity, meaningful engagement, and the promotion of independence for residents. Thoughtfully designed spaces feature visual cues, sensory-sensitive designs, and professional wall coverings that evoke memories, such as landmarks from New York City, like the Coney Island Boardwalk.
