Overview

About Raby Estates

The Raby Estate encompasses historic Raby Castle in County Durham, High Force Hotel and Waterfall in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and The Wrekin in the Shropshire countryside.

Business operations include agriculture, conservation, leisure and tourism, property and hospitality.

The Raby Estates stretches across Teesdale and County Durham and there is a very strong emphasis on rural conservation. Agriculture is an important element of the Estate and The Raby Home Farm is part of the national Countryside Stewardship Scheme where farming practices are modified to enhance flora and fauna on the lower Estate. As well as thousands of acres of arable, grazing and moorland there is also a large area of managed woodland.

In Shropshire, The Wrekin lies within the northern area of the Shropshire Hills AONB and is popular with walkers who enjoy this landmark's delightful woodland paths and rights of way.
