About Race For Water Foundation
Founded in 2010, the Race for Water Foundation is a Swiss organization committed to the preservation of the ocean.
Convinced that a living ocean is essential to life, the Foundation travels the world through its Odysseys to better understand the threats facing marine ecosystems, share this knowledge, and inspire action.
Its expedition vessels, powered by clean technologies, embody a new model of navigation and build bridges between science, decision-makers, and citizens. Through its three core programs – LEARN, SHARE, ACT – the Foundation combines research, awareness, and innovation to turn knowledge into a driver for change.
Since its creation, the Foundation has carried out three major Odysseys, organized 43 stopovers across 25 countries, and directly raised awareness among over 23,800 people about ocean protection.
In May 2025, Race for Water launched the Ocean & Climate Odyssey aboard the MODX70 zero-emission catamaran. This international adventure, unfolding through multiple missions over three years, aims to deepen understanding of the links between the ocean, climate, and biodiversity—while engaging the maritime sector around concrete decarbonization solutions.
