Overview

About ResponsibleAg

ResponsibleAg is a non-profit, industry-led initiative committed to helping agribusinesses safely store and handle farm input supplies, such as crop nutrients and pesticides, critical in the production of food, fiber and fuel for our growing world population.

The organization provides access to educational resources that help agribusinesses improve workplace safety to keep employees, customers and our communities safe.

ResponsibleAg also delivers the industry’s voluntary regulatory compliance audit and certification program. These compliance audits are conducted by trained and ResponsibleAg-accredited professional auditors who review aspects of up to 17 areas commonly found in agricultural inputs facilities. The thorough evaluations help agribusinesses ensure they are compliant with environmental, health, safety and security regulations.

By participating in the ResponsibleAg program and achieving ResponsibleAg Certification, businesses demonstrate the high importance they and others throughout the agricultural inputs industry place on compliance ― an important commitment from an industry regulated by federal agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DOT and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as various state regulatory agencies.

ResponsibleAg was created in 2014 by the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA), The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) and committed volunteer industry leaders and EHS experts.
