About Retail Institute of South Africa (RISA)
The Retail Institute of South Africa (RISA) is a non-profit professional body dedicated to professionalising South Africa’s retail workforce through accredited pathways, recognised designations and competency-based training. We provide a structured end-to-end framework (the Career Value Chain™) that develops talent from front-line to executive leadership, strengthens retailer performance, and elevates the profession nationally.
In October 2025 RISA was recognised as First Runner-Up for Retail Innovation at the W&R SETA Good Practice Awards.
We collaborate with sector partners and academic institutions to align qualifications, micro-credentials and CPD with national standards and the needs of employers.
