About Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission

The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) is a regional transportation planning agency (RTPA) created by the State of California in 1972 to carry out transportation responsibilities that cross city-county jurisdictional boundaries.

RTC members represent the County Board of Supervisors, the City Councils, and the Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District. Together with volunteer committee members and staff, the RTC collaborates with other public agencies, businesses, advocacy groups, and the general public to address the region's transportation needs.

The primary objective of the Commission is to ensure the seamless and effective operation of transportation systems linking individuals and communities across Santa Cruz County and the surrounding Monterey Bay Area region.
