About SEPARATIC
SEPARATIC, redefining gas separation, is a start-up company based at the University of Fribourg. We aim to develop ultrahigh permeance membranes for cheaper and faster separation of gases compared to the traditional approach. We are using porous graphene as a revolutionary material that can achieve up to a million times higher permeation rates compared to conventional technologies. We have 2 products in development:
SEPARATIC-H2: a membrane separation unit that is aimed at addressing the purge losses in PEM fuel cells by making them more efficient, safer, and more sustainable.
SEPARATIC-CO2: a graphene membrane aimed at reducing the costs of carbon capture and separation significantly. It can reduce the operational costs 4-9x and capital investment costs 3-5x compared to traditional approaches such as amine scrubbing and polymeric membranes.
Our eventual goal is to develop mobile carbon capture systems directly from the air and install them in Swiss cities and companies.
