SKILLS, Inc.

At SKILLS, we believe that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities want the same things we all want: a safe home, people who care about them, the chance to use their skills and talents, and to belong to a community. At SKILLS, Inc. we support more than 140 adults with intellectual disabilities and other challenges, helping to make all of that possible. SKILLS offers group community support programs, supported housing via our residential programs, and individual support across central Maine. All of our programs are staffed by trained Direct Support Professionals. Founded by families in the 1950's to keep their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the community and out of institutional care, SKILLS has grown to serve adults across central Maine, maintaining our focus on community.
