About SOCAR Polymer
SOCAR Polymer was incorporated on July 16, 2013 to implement a project of international standing – the first of its kind and scale in the petrochemical industry of Azerbaijan over the past 40 years.
In 2013-2019, the company successfully implemented the construction and commissioning of two polymer production facilities in the Sumgayit Industrial Park (SIP): the Polypropylene (PP) and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plants.
Designed with an annual capacity of 184 KTA of PP and 120 KTA of HDPE, the SOCAR Polymer plants operate using technologies licensed from LyondellBasell and INEOS. The company’s portfolio now comprises 50+ grades of PP and HDPE, including PP-RC and other high-demand polymers. Most of the company’s output is exported to about 20 markets across 3 continents via road, rail, and maritime routes. The company continues to make a significant contribution to the national GDP and remains one of Azerbaijan’s leading exporters in the non-oil sector.
