Overview

About Social Equity Centre

The Social Equity Centre is a not-for-profit organisation committed to breaking down barriers for first-generation migrants in the UK, focusing on their underrepresentation in the public sector.

Migrants face significant challenges in accessing public sector roles and having their voices heard in the public sector decision-making. We exist to change that.

In the short-term, our efforts are concentrated on closing the representation gap in local government.

Our approach is rooted in lived experience and real-world solutions. We understand the unique challenges these communities face. We go beyond surface-level solutions to address the root causes of underrepresentation with clear, actionable strategies.

We work towards our vision for a world where first-generation migrants are fairly and proportionately represented across the public sector and where public sector workforces reflect the diversity and demographics of their communities.

The Social Equity Centre is not just about increasing numbers - it's about building a future where first-generation migrants can lead and drive change in their communities. By investing in this vision, we aim to create a more inclusive and equitable public sector where everyone, regardless of their background, has the power to contribute and shape the policies that affect them.
