Established by The Sona Devi Memorial Educational Foundation Trust in the state of Jharkhand as a non-profitable and nonproprietary public body. Under the visionary leadership of trustees, Sona Devi University is being proposed to run world class institution with Faculty of Management, Computer Science, Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Law and Humanities. All the discipline are facilitated with Industry collaboration and placement assistance.

The Univeristy is situated amidst a sprawling, picturesque campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure on the National Highway at Ghatsila East Sighbhum. The university has set up hostel facility for outstation students along with transport facility for commuting from hostel to campus. State of Art classroom , Digital learning, International standard multiple Labs for students and researchers are the first major milestone for the University.
