About Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College - Pollachi
Established in 1997 by the V.S.V. Vidyaa Mandir Trust, Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College (STC) was founded with a mission to address the educational needs of both rural and urban youth in and around Pollachi and various districts of Tamil Nadu. Over the years, STC has evolved into a beacon of excellence, earning the trust and confidence of the community through its commitment to discipline, quality, and values. The trust was initiated by three visionaries from philanthropic families: Thiru. P.M. Thyagarajan, Thiru. M.K. Arumugam, and Thiru. D. Sivaraman.
Today, the institution is efficiently managed by dynamic business leaders and their successors—Thiru. M.A. Vijayamoghan as Chairman, Thiru. T. Sethupati as Vice Chairman, and Thiru. S. Venkkatesh as Secretary. Dr. M. Settu, our Former Director General and a brilliant corporate strategist, played a pivotal role in transforming STC into an outstanding institution. His legacy continues to guide STC forward. The recent addition of directors Mrs. Shravanthy Krishnamurthy, Mr. M.V. Sreekanth, and Mr. P.T.S. Shreeram has infused new vitality, shine, and momentum into the management team.
STC proudly holds an 'A' grade from NAAC twice, ISO certification 21001-2018, the 2nd Best College Award among Bharathiar University's affiliated colleges, and has consistently secured the Second Rank in Sports and Athletics for the past seven years. From its humble beginning with a modest student body, STC has grown to accommodate 3200 students, offering a unique and autonomous co-educational experience with need-based curricula and outcome-oriented programs.
Adding to its infrastructure, STC has inaugurated the VSV Centre for Advanced Studies, equipped with modern facilities to enrich the teaching and learning experience.
