STAAR Surgical Switzerland

STAAR Surgical is a fast-growing international medical device company. Dedicated solely to ophthalmic surgery for over 40 years, we design, develop, manufacture and market innovative and high-quality implantable lenses for the eye with companion delivery systems. Our lenses are used in refractive surgeries and are called an Implantable Collamer® Lens or "ICL". More than 4’000’000 ICLs have been sold to date – worldwide! STAAR has over 900 employees worldwide and markets lenses in over 75 countries.

Since 1994, STAAR Surgical is also present in Switzerland where we have two sites: one in Nidau BE and one in Brügg BE. Currently, our company is further expanding by setting up a brand-new manufacturing site in Nidau BE.
