Stony Brook University Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science (CS), established in 1969, is part of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Stony Brook University and is consistently ranked among the top computer science departments in the nation. We offer BS, MS, and PhD programs in Computer Science and a BS program in Information Systems. The department has also recently launched BS, MS, and PhD programs in data science jointly with the Department of Applied Mathematics & Statistics.

The CS department has approximately 60 full-time faculty members and over 2,200 students in its undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs combined. More information about the department is available at www.cs.stonybrook.edu.
