About Stutter Awareness Foundation
The Stutter Awareness Foundation (SAF) is a nonprofit organization committed to raising awareness, breaking the stigma, and empowering individuals who stutter in Nigeria and across Africa. Founded to bridge the deep social and structural gaps surrounding speech disfluency, SAF champions inclusive education, early intervention, and voice justice through grassroots advocacy, storytelling, and strategic partnerships.
Our work includes public education campaigns like “Voices Unmuted”, school outreach programs, support networks for people who stutter, and policy engagement aimed at integrating stuttering into national disability and health frameworks. We also develop accessible resources, offer psychosocial support, and provide training for teachers and parents.
Through empathy, evidence-based approaches, and creative advocacy, SAF is creating a society where stuttering is understood—not mocked, hidden, or punished—and where every voice can be heard.
