About Summer Sales Festival
Project Summer Sales is a festival that satisfies a growing desire for the Royal Signals both serving and veteran to meet, en masse, in an informal setting.
Exercise Summer Sales took place predominantly in Germany when the UK had many more fighting divisions. Royal Signals deployed en masse and provided comms for UK’s manoeuvre units. This was, for many of us, a long and testing period but of course this is what was expected at the time (and the post exercise parties were legendary!). We chose to re-use this name in memory of those bygone days creating a project called Summer Sales Festival (often shortened to Summer Sales Fest).
Project Summer Sales 2023 inaugural year was a resounding success !
To continue to satisfy a growing desire for the Royal Signals both serving and veteran to meet, en masse, in an informal setting we are planning on running 2024s event following a similar format.
The festival will run annually with the second instalment taking place 9th – 11th August 2024 at Kemble near Cirencester.
£5.00 from each ticket sold along with monies generated from the event itself will be gifted to the Royal Signals Charity.
We hope that we can build on 2023s success and have increased numbers, we capped the event so that we can scope the deployment of site infrastructure, with 1500 tickets currently available.
The event has been created by a group of Veterans with close connections to the Corps who have experience in setting up, managing and running this type of event. The self funding event has been launched without any input from the charity it seeks to support.
The initiative has been de-risked through shared site infrastructure in support of the Ogri MCC summer Rally and the Didmarton Bluegrass Festival.
Mindful of our social responsibility and the deployment of bars, we have established this will continue to be run as an over 18’s event.
