Human-Centred Security (HCS) is an approach build on basic concepts of psychology, human-computer-interaction and organizational behaviour. Human behaviour is predictable, and we are applying that knowledge to design security solutions that make it easy for people “to do the right thing” – adopt behaviours that protect them and their organisation from security threats, and build an appropriate understanding of relevant threats and protection behaviours.

As opposed to casting humans in the role of the “weakest link” – harbouring defects that need to be ”fixed” top-down through security education, HCS offers methods for engaging users, employees, experts and decision-makers and collaboratively developing effective protection measures. It is a method that in practice helps organizations to keep their main business running, while establishing a secure environment that does not cause friction with productivity.
