About Technologies for Criminal Investigations Research Group
The Technologies for Criminal Investigations research group focuses on improving and applying investigations using advanced and innovative technology. Investigation issues are central to the lectorate. Investigation does not only have to be classically reactive and reconstructive in nature (investigation at a crime scene), but can also be more proactive in nature (focused on detection). Innovation and innovative technology are the common thread in both domains.
TCI research group is a joint professorship in which the Police Academy and Saxion University of Applied Sciences have a close collaboration.
Within the professorship, four research lines are central: Nanoforensics, Forensic Robotics, Coldcase Research Project, Silent Witness. Within the lines of research, there is a focus on three specific areas: Murder and Manslaughter, Subversion & Terrorism and Serial Arson.
