About The Pravin Agarwal Foundation
Thousands of children in India are deprived of quality liver treatment each year. An alarming statistic is that while over 3000 children in India are in need of a liver transplantation every year, less than a 300 get access to one. The vision of The Pravin Agarwal Foundation (TPAF) is to guarantee every child afflicted has just and uniform access to quality liver transplants and treatment.
TPAF started in 2016 by supporting 13 liver transplantations and has since then supported over 650 pediatric liver transplantations. We hope to reach and support 1000 patient families by end of 2029. TPAF believes that for the change to be sustainable, there is need for ecosystem level change and working with all stakeholders to make the cost of liver transplantation more affordable. Towards this, TPAF engages with doctors, surgeons, funders and institutions in the liver health space through multiple interventions including awareness generation, leveraging existing funding opportunities through partnerships and scaling impact by working with the Government.
