About Triple P Australia
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program was originally developed in Australia and is now delivered around the world.
TRIPLE P IN AUSTRALIA
Thousands of individuals and agencies deliver various Triple P programs to families as part of government-funded initiatives, health and community service programs, school and early childhood education family support, and/or charitable and NGO family support systems.
As the importance of providing a safe, secure and developmentally appropriate early childhood environment becomes more obvious, more Australian policy makers are wanting to take a pro-active approach to issues such as substance abuse, suicide, and child protection, with positive interventions aimed at giving all children a healthy start in life.
Currently in Queensland, there is a state-wide population rollout of free Triple P programs to all parents and carers of children under 16. This includes Triple P interventions from low-intensity large-group seminars through to individual high-intensity support programs, online versions of Triple P and Teen Triple P, Group Triple P with an Indigenous focus. Our implementation partners include school counsellors, Queensland Health nurses, and charities.
Two dedicated Indigenous Implementation Consultants (ICs) work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations to help ensure culturally safe delivery of the program.
Triple P programs are also used extensively in WA, NSW, and Victoria.
We also support partner organisations to improve their understanding of the program’s alignment with attachment theory and trauma-informed care as the program is used in a broad range of settings.
Our complete system of flexible, evidence-based interventions (including e-mental health options, low literacy adaptations, programs for parents and carers of children with a disability, and more) helps providers and services to create positive change by improving parenting skills, knowledge and confidence.
