About Triple P UK & Ireland
The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program® has been delivered in the UK & Ireland more than 15 years. Triple P UK supports the implementation of the Triple P System: more than 25+ evidence-based interventions, from light-touch seminars, small group sessions & online self-help through to more intensive group & individual support.
The Triple P system contains specific programmes for parents:
-of young children
-of teenagers
-who want to encourage healthy eating, and exercise
-with complex needs e.g. edge-of-care (Pathways Triple P)
-experiencing stress or depression that may be related to parenting
-experiencing parental conflict inc. separation/divorce
-of children with additional needs (Stepping Stones Triple P)
Healthy, happy, well-functioning families, trauma-free childhoods and breaking intergenerational cycles of disadvantage (while supporting school readiness & social, emotional & cognitive development) cuts future spending on youth justice, adult mental health, alcohol/substance abuse, & related welfare costs.
EARLY INTERVENTION
According to the National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE) Guidelines, evidence-based parenting programmes are the ONLY recommended form of treatment for:
•children <5yrs who have ADHD symptoms
•conduct disorder / behavioural problems in children (3 to 11 years old)
CHILD MENTAL HEALTH: A PUBLIC HEALTH APPROACH
The family environment has a lifelong influence – negative or positive – on future physical & mental health & quality of life. We work with Local Authorities, CAMHS, ICBs, NHS Trusts, Public Health, HSE and Tusla to improve family functioning with practical, realistic & cost-effective programmes, including online options.
Evaluations of Triple P have shown reductions in child maltreatment and out-of-home placements, and improved health & education outcomes.
The PECE – Positive Early Childhood Education Program® is now also available, offering online learning as a CPD opportunity for Early Childhood Educators.
