About True Voice English
It’s never the artist’s job to fit in, but that’s exactly what current language tuition options expect them to do.
Most artists, designers and creatives are asynchronous, visual or kinetic learners – with a significantly higher number than average neurodiverse.
Furthermore, most language learning providers do not know the language skills a creative career needs. At best, they offer a general/business English mishmash, substituted with a vocabulary list for types of pencils.
Classroom environments kill creativity and individuality, unless language learning escapes the classroom and textbooks, the creative will never have the right words.
We called our website Gigs & Jams, because unlike any other profession, artist and creative careers are made and broken in formal/informal settings. You need to impress quickly, share opinions confidently, use words with precision – and at other times let ideas run fast and free to form new shapes wherever they land.
The only way to grow these language skills is to practice them in realistic contexts.
Not in a classroom. Not speaking to an English teacher who doesn’t get art.
The True Voice concept is to present a series of specific situations and creative challenges in which artists/art students collaborate, give instruction, make requests, present ideas, express preferences, repeatedly present their own concepts/creative decisions.
The results are creatives and thinkers confidently presenting their work, successfully collaborating, showing up as themselves and building successful international careers because they can express themselves when it matters.
Why Should You Trust Us With Your English?
