About Institute of Electrical Power Systems and High Voltage Engineering

The Institute of Electrical Power Systems and High Voltage Engineering (IEEH) is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Technische Universität Dresden.

Graduates of the IEEH receive a broad basic knowledge in the field of electrical power engineering as well as application-oriented special knowledge regarding the transmission of high electrical power.

In a team of more than 60 research assistants we work on a wide range of research topics. Divided into two chairs, we devote ourselves to these topics:

Chair of Electrical Power Systems
- Energy Converters and Instrument Transformers
- Planning and Operation of Grids
- Power Quality
- Protection and Control Technology
- Smart Grid

Chair of High Voltage and High Current Engineering
- High Voltage Engineering
- Ampacity and Heating
- Electrical Contacts and Connections
