With our research and teaching, we contribute to the well-being and peaceful coexistence of people while respecting the carrying capacity of our biosphere. Ecological systems must be preserved and restored. The construction sector plays a key role in this.

A fundamental transformation of the built environment is necessary, taking into account the ecological, economic and social dimensions of sustainability. This requires holistic planning, design, analysis and evaluation methods. We develop these together with partners from science, business and society.
