About Tune Insight
Driven by a core challenge: advancing medicine while keeping data confidential.
The story of Tune Insight begins with a simple yet fundamental observation: in the health sector, data is both an invaluable asset and a sensitive resource to manipulate. Their use is crucial to advancing medical research, developing new treatments and improving care. However, legitimate concerns about confidentiality, strict regulations and ethical issues are holding back progress.
Faced with this paradox Tune Insight founders decided to act. They asked themselves a daring question: what if we could access knowledge without directly manipulating the data?
In 2021 at EPFL’s Data Security Laboratory, our four co-founders developed the foundations for a secure solution that combines homomorphic encryption, multi-party computing, differential privacy and federated learning which is how Tune Insight began.
Our mission is to transform the paradigm of the data economy into an insight economy that better protects sensitive data, that is more secure, fair, and protective of privacy and confidentiality rights
