About Turtle Dove Cambridge
Turtle Dove Cambridge was established to address a gap in youth support work provision for young women.
Founded by Kate Nation, Turtle Dove has a clear purpose: to improve the future prospects of young women who are at risk of unemployment due to a lack of confidence, experience, or access to opportunities.
This mission is rooted in Kate's first-hand experience in the youth sector, where she witnessed the impact of a system in which young women are significantly more likely than their male peers to disengage from the job market altogether.
Turtle Dove was also created as a safe, female-only space where young women can develop, learn and thrive without the pressures often experienced in mixed-gender environments. Research shows that in these settings, young women do not always perform to the best of their abilities.
By providing structured opportunities in hospitality, teamwork, and event delivery, young women gain valuable life skills and practical work experience.
Our team supports small-scale events both on and off-site, ensuring each event runs smoothly and professionally. We work in partnership with local caterers, restaurants, social enterprises, and community group. We also offer our own vintage china hire as part of our service.
