TUS Innovates – spans the Mid-West with three Innovation Centres: Hartnett Enterprise Acceleration Centre, Limerick; Questum, Clonmel & Thurles Chamber Enterprise Centre, Thurles delivering incubation and business support for innovative start-ups as well as other business types.
The Hartnett Enterprise Acceleration Centre runs the Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers Programme annually.

New Frontiers is a free programme for Founders with innovative business ideas from a wide range of sectors. The programme has 3-phases of support available: 1- Test the Idea, 2- Develop the Idea and 3- Implement the plan.

PHASE 1 - TEST your Business Idea

Startup Training Workshops to:
• Evaluate your business idea
• Peer Learning
• Arrive at a go/ no-go decision
• Prepare for Phase 2
Two versions of this programme are available – a 5-week (10 night) programme or a face-paced bootcamp over 1.5 days.

PHASE 2 - DEVELOP your Business
Full-time intensive engagement over 6-months with:
• €30,000 support package
• €15,000 stipend for participants
• No Equity Taken
• Training, Mentoring & Coaching
• Develop a strong business plan
• Networking
• Peer Learning
• 24-7 Incubation Space

PHASE 3 – IMPLEMENT the Plan
This phase is only open to founders who have successfully completed the 6-month phase 2 programme.

TUS’s Hartnett Enterprise Acceleration Centre have been running the programme which is funded by Enterprise Ireland since 2012 – in this time 413 individuals have been supported on the phase 1 & 134 on the phase 2 6-month programme.

A vast range of Founders have been supported from Wild Irish Seaweed, Trackplan, Fiid, Assure Medical, Thomond Gate Whiskey, Great Visitor Experience, Emotionise AI, Zerve, Mavarick & Oirtonics.

The team look forward to supporting approximately 40 individuals in phase 1 and 14 in phase 2 for the coming years.
