For more than 60 years, UAB Callahan Eye has provided expert vision care to the people of Central Alabama. With clinic locations throughout the region and the Southeast’s only 24/7 dedicated Eye Emergency Department, we offer comprehensive eye care at every stage of life—from routine exams to urgent, sight-saving treatment.
We are one of the only centers in the world focused entirely on advancing the science and care of vision. As the clinical and academic home of the UAB Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, we lead nationally recognized research, provide expert care to patients from across Alabama and beyond, and train the next generation of ophthalmologists through competitive residency and fellowship programs.
