About University of North Carolina Department of Dermatology

The UNC Department of Dermatology provides medical and surgical care to patients with conditions that affect the skin, hair, nails, and membranes. We offer superb adult and pediatric medical and surgical/laser services, Mohs surgery, and dermatopathology. We are committed to the health care of all people of our state and beyond, including service to underserved populations. We teach and train students, residents, and fellows with a rigorous curriculum that prepares the highly skilled dermatologists of the future. We have vibrant basic science and clinical research programs with several NIH-funded investigators, with special expertise in autoimmunity, epidermal cell biology, and skin cancers. Our vision is to advance our mission through ongoing innovation and service in a supportive, caring environment for patients, staff, physicians, and all members of our health care team.
