Uncommon Threads

Uncommon Threads is an innovative non-profit located in Lawrence, MA that taps into the power of clothing and image to build women's self-esteem and self-worth. We provide low-income women with a dignified and empowering experience where they can “shop” in a beautiful boutique with a stylist’s guidance versus being the recipient of a handout program. There is no work requirement to access services so we can support all aspects of a woman’s clothing needs from work and interview attire to every-day clothing for those who are unable to work due to trauma, disability, age or circumstances. Our self-esteem focused workshops and groups give women tools for inner growth and provide them with a sense of community and connection.
