Canada’s literacy divide widens daily because so many people lack adequate literacy support. Bridging the literacy gap is something we can do. Solving systemic literacy challenges is key to advancing social equity and prosperity across our country. Literacy changes everything.
United for Literacy (formerly Frontier College) is a national registered charity that delivers tailored programs for children, youth, and adults. Since 1899, we have provided innovative literacy support in a wide range of locations, because every place is a learning place. In the past year, nearly 40,000 people in over 180 urban, rural, and remote places across Canada—including 97 Indigenous communities—gained access to free, inclusive learning support to help them reach their goals and fulfill their potential.
