About United Fund for Belgium (asbl/vzw)
United Fund for Belgium (asbl/vzw) is a Belgian non-profit organization dedicated to fostering social integration and improving lives across the country. Our mission is to support people in need by financing impactful projects led by charitable associations in Belgium.
What we do
We focus exclusively on social projects, with particular attention to:
- Social integration
- Child welfare
- Poverty alleviation
- Support for individuals with disabilities
Each year, we aim to fund approximately 80 charitable associations, prioritizing small to mid-sized projects that have a tangible impact on both the organizations we support and the individuals they serve.
How we fund projects
Our funding comes from a community of donors, including Belgian and international companies as well as individuals. Unique in Belgium, 100% of the donations we receive go directly to the selected charities. This is made possible because:
- Operational costs are covered through special donations, event proceeds, and income from our endowment fund, the Martin Kallen Fund.
- Our commitment ensures every euro donated has maximum impact.
Our approach
- Regional balance: We support projects across all regions and provinces of Belgium, ensuring equitable distribution of funds.
- Thorough selection process: Every association is personally visited by our representatives to assess the feasibility and value of their projects. Our Allocation Committee, made up of volunteers active in their local communities, ensures that only worthy and viable projects are funded.
- Corporate partnerships: We collaborate with companies to align their support with projects that resonate with their values.
UFB strives to create meaningful change by bringing together donors, companies, and charitable associations. Our unique model ensures transparency, accountability, and maximum impact—making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most across Belgium.
