About UQ Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre

The University of Queensland Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre is a world-class research centre focused on the role of gas in the energy transition.

The Centre provides independent, evidence-based advice to businesses, government and communities about all aspects of the role of gas in the energy transition. The Centre structures its research around four key themes:
• Communities and co-existence
• Environment
• Decarbonisation
• Energy security

The Centre manages a broad range of projects which are underpinned by vital funding from a range of sources. This includes government grants and research funding from a range of member organisations who are committed to backing strategic research into the role of gas in the energy transition and broader, relevant energy transition related issues. Current member organisations are Arrow Energy, Santos and APLNG as well as The University of Queensland.
