About Urban-Think Tank
Urban-Think Tank is the original architecture, urban planning, and design practice directed by founder Hubert Klumpner. Established in 1998 together with Alfredo Brillembourg as a NGO under the name Caracas-Think Tank. In 2019, Klumpner founded a second Urban-Think Tank studio in Zurich / CH as CEO and design principal. The design studio focuses on R&D led Prototype Projects engaging both local and global, emphasizing architecture projects social value, reconciling the natural- and built environment. U-TT next's work includes culture, education, sports, housing and process-based infrastructure projects, creating spaces for impact beyond traditional building projects.

U-TT's work received numerous awards and nominations, including the Golden Lion of the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Holcim Global Silver and Latin-American Gold Awards, Curry Stone Design Prize, and the UN-Habitat International Best Practice Award, the UN-Habitat International Best Practice Award, and was nominated for the RIBA Prize for the World’s Best Building, and Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize.
