v-architekten was founded in Cologne in 2008 by Tim Denninger, Jan Hertel, Markus Kilian, Diana Reichle and Michael Scholz and emerged from the two offices denninger scholz architekten and Hertel Kilian Reichle Architekten. In 2024, Kathrin Lefering and Markus Wiesneth became further partners of v-architekten as the new generation. The firm's activities cover the entire spectrum of architectural design. Competition successes in the fields of education, culture and infrastructure make up a large proportion of the projects realized. Numerous prizes and awards attest to the high standards of quality. The office's work is characterized by an open and inquisitive approach to new projects. We do not see building tasks that require a complex examination of the existing building stock, whether in an urban context or in existing buildings, or planning under difficult conditions, such as a tight budget or a tight time frame, as a restriction, but rather as a special challenge. It is precisely out of these constraints that precise analyses give rise to simple and clear concepts that develop their strength from the inner logic of the location and function.
