About Wadhwani Foundation-LA
Launched in 2000 by Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, the Foundations comprising of Wadhwani Charitable Foundation and Wadhwani Operating Foundation are working with the primary mission of accelerating economic development in emerging economies through large-scale job creation with presence in Asia, Africa and Latin America operating in association with governments, corporates, mentors, investors and educational institutes. Its Initiatives are driving job creation through entrepreneurship, skills development and innovation. While both the Foundations are focused on the same goal and mission, the Wadhwani Charitable Foundation focuses on grant making, while the Wadhwani Operating Foundation focuses on direct programs.
National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) inspires, educates, and supports student entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs for creating high-value jobs. NEN creates city-based entrepreneurial ecosystems consisting of institutes that teach NEN courses, NEN run or supported accelerators and a network of mentors, investors, service providers supporting startups and SMEs.
Global Skills Network (GSN) equips non-college-bound graduates with sufficient work-skills to command family supporting wages. GSN works with the Central and State Governments to transform vocational schools to modern multi-skill institutes, and with employers to engage in an apprenticeship program while also providing adjunct faculty and internships.
Global Innovation Network (GIN) aims to create world-class research institutes that compete at a global level leading to creation of global organizations. Its Startup and Small Business Innovation Program (SSBI) strives to create world-class innovation ecosystems in critical sectors of high importance in India and other emerging economies through innovation grants to hundreds of companies.
Policy Research Network (PRN) provides data-driven research inputs for informed policy action focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, skills development and employment aimed at accelerating economic growth.
