War Against Rabies Foundation (WARF)

Dr. Grace Sabo Nok Kia (DVM, MSc, PhD, FCVSN), the founder of the ‘War Against Rabies Foundation’ is a Public Health and Preventive Medicine veterinarian, researcher and lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Nigeria. War Against Rabies Foundation is a Nonprofit (NPO) charity organization with a passion to fight rabies to finish and war to win the battle against the deadly rabies virus for a Rabies-Free World. War Against Rabies Foundation operates in view of the 'One Health’ concept to control animal rabies and stop man's exposure to rabies in Nigeria and other endemic countries. The War Against Rabies Foundation Team will work unitedly with all national (inter-ministerial collaborations, research institutes and other relevant national organizations involvements), regional, international stakeholders and relevant experts, to ensure successful rabies control programmes in the various countries. It will operate to achieve the global rabies goal of a rabies free world by 2030. PURPOSE This is a non-profit organization for the elimination of rabies by vaccinating minimum of 70% of dog population yearly, to eliminate canine rabies and prevent rabies deaths in humans and animals in Nigeria and other rabies endemic countries. MISSION To vaccinate minimum of 70% of dog population yearly, to eliminate canine rabies and prevent human and animal deaths due to rabies in Nigeria and other rabies in endemic countries. VISION To create a Rabies-free World.
