About Wayne State University School of Information Sciences
As part of the Wayne State community, the School of Information Sciences is part of the most diverse campus in Michigan, which hosts students from 77 countries across the globe. We have an excellent full-time faculty of researchers and educators as well leading information professionals, who teach part-time and supervise our student interns. In addition, we have a dedicated, professional staff who make student success their top priority. Through our multidisciplinary approach to research and education, and ongoing collaboration with our University Research Corridor partners, the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, Wayne State University expands knowledge, enhances economic growth and improves the quality of life in the city of Detroit, state of Michigan and throughout the world.
Our master’s degree in library and information science has been accredited by the American Library Association for more than 50 years and our MLIS is the only master’s-only program that is nationally ranked in the top 25 Library and Information Studies Programs by U.S. News & World Report. Our master of science in Information Management degree prepares students to be successful in a variety of data-driven careers at the intersection of people, information and technology.
