It is common knowledge that tropical ecosystems are threatened heavily. However, while reading just these two sentences, several hectares of tropical forest have been destroyed! With your help, we can be part of the solution. See how you can adopt tropical forest before they disappear.
PURCHASE AND PROTECT
Adopt Rainforest is a non-profit organization that aims to protect 2000 hectares of tropical forest in Costa Rica. Because we are a small organization, we can act directly and cost-effectively. Our project area is located in the east of Costa Rica, where many stretches of pristine tropical forest are left untouched, for now. However, since the majority of the local owners are willing to sell their properties, future land use remains uncertain. Acquisition and protection of these forests is our main concern and for that we need your help.
RESEARCH AND SUSTAINABILITY
In addition, Adopt Rainforest will generate public awareness about the importance of tropical ecosystems and sustainable land use. On the edge of the project area, guests can join for practical placement, volunteering activities and Spanish lessons in a self-sufficient research centre.
YOUR SUPPORT
With only €2.50 you can adopt a square meter of forest. As a sign of appreciation, we will send you an electronic certificate of your contribution. Many people adopt a part of the forest on behalf of a friend or family member, to celebrate weddings, birthdays, or in memoriam.
