About Water Quality & Erosion Control of Tennessee

Water Quality & Erosion Control of Tennessee was founded in 2002 and developed into a full service environmental consulting business by majority owner Jean Matthews, CPESC, CESSWI. WQEC was fundamentally involved in the development of the 2005 Tennessee Construction Storm Water General Permit and the 2007 Metro Nashville Stormwater ordinances. WQEC specializes in helping their clients understand how federal, state and local environmental regulations can affect their projects before, during, and after construction. WQEC employees have successfully completed the University of Tennessee’s Level I and Level II courses on erosion prevention and sediment control on construction sites, and many have obtained or are working toward the CPESC or CESSWI designation by the International Erosion Control Association.

Specialties: WQEC offers full-service environmental permit consulting and evaluation of natural resources that may be affected by development and construction including permit applications, storm water pollution prevention plans, state required construction site NPDES inspections, and stormwater and natural resource compliance instruction.
