𝗪𝗦𝗛 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀 was born from the 𝗪𝗦𝗛 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀: 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, a 2023 𝗗𝗲𝘃-𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 initiative supported by the 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to tackle critical gaps in sanitation data systems across Sub-Saharan Africa. Recognizing the need to scale these efforts and ensure long-term impact, WSH Data Labs evolved as a program for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable solutions. 𝗔𝘁 𝗪𝗦𝗛 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀, 𝘄𝗲: • Engage stakeholders across utilities, municipalities, and regulators to co-create solutions for data-driven sanitation systems. • Develop tools to empower utilities to adopt tailored solutions. • Foster knowledge exchange through various capacity-building initiatives 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿: to enhance public data systems, drive informed decision-making, optimize performance, and improve non-sewered sanitation service delivery across sub-Saharan Africa with practical, scalable, and impactful data solutions. Looking ahead, 𝗪𝗦𝗛 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗔𝗳𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗔) 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. This milestone will mark the next chapter in our journey toward building a resilient sanitation data ecosystem that benefits communities across Sub-Saharan Africa.
