About Y Careers
At Y Careers we’re on a mission to create 15,000 jobs for young Australians in the education and care sectors over the next five years. As an innovative social enterprise and a subsidiary of The Y (formerly YMCA), we’re tackling two of Australia’s biggest workforce challenges:
- The high rate of youth underemployment and unemployment.
- The urgent need for skilled workers in aged care, disability support and childcare.
Through traineeship programs and our direct recruitment services, we provide young people with access to meaningful careers, supporting them with a dedicated Career Coach for personalised mentoring and guidance.
By reimagining the future of work, we’re not just helping young Australians build lasting careers—we’re strengthening the essential services our communities rely on.
Y Careers is backed by a $15.2 million grant from the Australian Government’s Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, supporting the setup and growth of our operations.
