Overview

About YWCA York

YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

The purpose of YWCA York is to work proactively and collaboratively to provide programs that promote racial justice; empower women; eliminate domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of violence; and strengthen our community.

YWCA York was founded in 1891 as a place for women to come together to learn, strengthen their minds and bodies, and advocate for social change. Today, YWCA York responds to the needs of busy families with innovative programs, flexible scheduling, and affordable fees. We are proud of our tradition of promoting wellness and dignity for all people and continue to work for an end to violence and discrimination of all kinds.
